FAQs

What will gymnastics do for my child?
The gymnastics curriculum will assist your child’s development in strength, agility, flexibility, muscular endurance, posture, balance, and overall body coordination. Gymnastics is a key compliment towards other sports your child may choose to do throughout their lives. It also teaches body awareness and self-confidence. Our goal is to provide challenges in a fun atmosphere, where your child can experience fitness in an exciting way.

What are your policies on make-up classes?
If students miss class, two classes are allowed to be made up on a space available basis, in an age appropriate class. Make-ups can only be made in the same session where classes were missed. All make-up classes must be scheduled in the office.

What is your refund policy?
You must notify Indigo Gymnastics Center™ of withdrawal immediately. No money will be refunded after the 2nd week of class unless due to an injury or long term illness, and then you must provided a doctor’s note. Tuition will be deducted for the classes that were attended. We do not give cash refunds. A check will be mailed to you. If you do not notify us of withdrawal, then there will be no credit given. The registration fee is non-refundable if a class has been taken.

Do I get a discount if I sign up for two or more classes?
If your family enrolls in more than one class, you are eligible for a 10% discount on any additional classes.

Can I transfer classes after I register?
Though we strongly encourage participants to keep the same schedule throughout the session, we also make every effort to accommodate the needs of all enrollees. If you’ve determined that you need to be transferred, notify the office. If unable to make the change at that moment, we will place you on the wait list of your desired class.

What is the class procedure?
Please be on time for your class. Children should put their shoes and clothes in the cubbies and wait to be called into the gym by the coach/teacher. Bathrooms are located in the gym, please try to use them before the class starts. Please be respectful of all others by using the bathrooms for changing.

What should my child wear for gymnastics?
T-shirts, sweats or shorts are the best kind of clothing for classes. Leotards are recommended for the girls. No jeans or belts please. Bare feet are best. No jewelry should be worn in class. Stud earrings are the only acceptable earrings. Long hair must be tied back neatly away from the face. Shoes are not allowed on the gym floor.

How do I know when my child is ready to move to the next level?
Each child’s progress is evaluated, starting at the preschool level with skill assessments based upon USA Gymnastics guidelines and recreational fitness curriculums. Assessment of each student’s progress is tracked by your child’s instructor every session. Once all the required skills have been mastered at one level, your child’s instructor will notify you that that they recommend a class change.

What happens when there is inclement weather?
In the case of bad weather, please call (908) 517-0808 or check our website www.indigogymnastics.com for updated information. If we do cancel classes, we will provide a scheduled make-up class. Please call an hour before your class if the weather has recently turned bad.
